Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking is the biggest form of slavery in the world ranging from adult to child slaves. Many women are sold to be sex slaves for their slave masters thinking they are going to work as something else in a country. Human trafficking generates about 9.5 billion dollars a year and millions of people are sold as slaves a year. I think human trafficking is sickening and should be abolished, because everyone on the planet is born equal and is entitled to their freedom.

Body Modification

In lecture we discussed different types of body modification from various cultures and time periods. It seems that in the past and especially in deprived cultures body modification means alot more than getting a tattoo job, because it looks pretty or artistic. In aboriginal and some African tribes body modification is used to tell where a person is from, some holds their language, and what tribe/culture they belong too. I do agree that a culture or society should be able to express their culture, but i don't agree with marking up/tattooing the body up and inflicting pain when doing so.

In modern English society people get tattoos for totally the total opposite reasons. People may get tattoo's, because its attractive, fashionable, artistic, or for group member ship such as a gang. I do not like this type of body modification, because it is permanent and if mistakes are made they are there forever. Another reason for why i am against body modification is that the body was created by God and changing what he has done or adding to it is an attack on God. Tattoos can also cause infection and even death as well as pain and i don't think its worth a butterfly image on the body.

Drugs

In society people who take drugs that are not Natural like coffee or prescribed by the doctor are deemed as bad people. Drugs can cause damage to health, cause the user to become addicted to the drug and over use of drugs can lead to death. Most of the drugs that have those traits are illegal. Drugs like Cannabis, heroine, LSD, and Ecstasy are among the drugs that can cause severe damage to health and even death.
According to British statistics deaths relating to Drugs have been on the increase since 1993-1999 then started to decline in 2006 to 2,507 which was the lowest rate since 1995, but the drug problem is back on the rise. 31% of male deaths relating to drugs is due to mental and behavioural health disorders, whereas the percentage of women is 12%. Although drugs are illegal many people still buy, sell, and consume drugs illegally especially cannabis. Cannabis is the most used drug in the world having 4% of the adult population consume it.
I know many people who take drugs i have seen people buy and sell drugs, but have never taken any illegal drugs, because i think it is wrong and disgusting to put alien chemicals into my body just to get high if it could kill me. The only drug which i think should be allowed is weed/cannabis, because although it has side effects it won't cause death like LSD or Heroine and too much people break the law to smoke it like its legal. What do you think?

Booze Britain

In class we discussed Britain's attitudes to drinking and why some people mainly age groups drink more than others. The statistics shown presented to me in my lecture said that 42% of men and 36% of women ages 16-24 drink Heavier than other age group and above the daily recommendations. I can believe this, because every Friday night after school me and my friends would consume large amounts of alcohol like most of the other young people did when we was around 14-17 years of age. The reason why we used to drink heavily was, because we had no school the next day and it was a time when most of the young people from school and surrounding area was out and we weren't at the legal age to buy alcohol from he shop so once we got hold of it we drank as much as we could, because we found pleasue and fun in getting drunk and not being in control of our actions often blaming what we did on the drink, but we would still continue to drink the following week.

In the bible it says that we shouldn't drink to get drunk which changed my view on drinking and now when i drink i watch how much i have consumed or i sometimes don't drink at all, because the bible also says that little bit of wine is good for the soul. Below are two links about this subject one is an advert about drinking the second is the effects of drinking please comment about this subject and tell me what you think.
